Alken Even-Flo® Technical Updates
New Application for Alken Even-Flo 910
We would like to thank our distributor, Green Tree Trading LLC, for arranging independent testing our EF 910 as a demulsifier, both at room temperature and with 60 deg. C heat, at multiple concentrations. The results demonstrate that EF 910 may be used, with heat, to demulsify oil-water emulsions of 5% to less than 1% water, in 2 days. Dosages tested most successful, with 60 deg. heat, were 66 ppm and 100 ppm.
When the tests were repeated on fuel with 10% water, with and without heat, the best performance at room temperature was 66 ppm, while the best results with 60 deg. heat were with a dosage of 133 ppm. Based on these results, we can now offer EF 910 as an alternative to Alken 860 for demulsifying applications. Request a sample for bench testing with your application.

Alken Clear-Flo® Technical Updates
Verify Performance of CF 1100 and 7110 with QC-2 Test Procedure
We plan to include one test vial containing 9 ml of our STP media with each order of our concentrated (50x) nitrifiers, so that you may easily add 1 ml of the product to the vial, and incubate in a shaker-inbubator at 35 deg. F for a week, to verify if the product has survived the trip in useable form. At time of manufacture, the STP media changes color within 48 hours, and usually less.

Bio-Nutrient 4 Formula Revised
It has recently been discovered that the nutrient supplementation ratio of ammonia to phosphorus of 3:1 works better than a ratio of 5:1, for hydrocarbon remediation, so Bio-Nutrient 4 has been revised.
Correction to MSDS of Alken Bio-Nutrient 3
Bio-Nutrient 3's MSDS incorrectly listed milk solids as a component. Milk solids are only in our Bio-Nutrient 7 and the online and WordPerfect files have been corrected to reflect the true content
Alken Clear-Flo 8000 MSDS revised
The surfactant was removed and three dry enzymes have been added: cellulase, alpha-amylase and alcalase, go to work more rapidly and make it easier for the bacterial enzymes to attack the target horse and cattle manure, for faster results. The online MSDS has been updated as well.
MSDS for Alken Nu-Bind and Alken Nu-Bind 2 are now Posted
Alken Nu-Bind Can Be Used as a Flocculant in Waste Treatment
Alken Nu-Bind
's high molecular weight humified peat moss extract acts as a slow-release, polyphenolic aromatic biopolymer with a cationic exchange capacity of 350 to 900 meq/100 g. This adds one more application to this remarkable blend's capabilities to stimulate bacterial activity, buffer and protect bacteria from stress, and bind both hydrogen sulfide and ammonia odors in a variety of waste treatment applications. This is as close to magic as you can get in one product.
New Dry Block Grease Degrading Product in Development
We have noted competitors with dry block grease degrading formulas and are attempting to offer our own. Unlike the discontinued CF 4002, which was not effective when pressed into a tablet form, this product contains both gram-positive and gram-negative strains. Please contact us if you would like to test one of these, as a free sample. The only thing we ask in return is a report of the results.
New Article Posted on Controlling Nocardia Foam in Waste Treatment
We have posted a new article on various methods of controlling Nocardia amarae, which often causes bulking and foaming in waste treatment plants.
Translation Attempt for Scientific Paper on Use of Alken Clear-Flo1200 & 1000 in Shrimp Farming
This may be a feeble attempt to translate this scientific paper, originally published in Spanish in 1996, but at least you can generally understand the results of this trial and how it was conducted back in 1994. Both products have been improved since then, but it is nice to finally understand the study. shrimp6e.htm
Alken Enz-Odor 4 is Being Reformulated
Our experience in the Fenton Farm, Inc. cattery has led us to stop recommending clumping cat litters. They can cause breathing difficulties in the cats and allergic humans and they can coat a kitten's gut, causing mechanical diarrhea and inhibiting their immune systems. The old version of Enz-Odor 4 worked quite well with clay and clumping litters but actually made odors worse when applied to the newer pine litters, so we are currently working on a new formula. Currently, we have narrowed our ideas to two formulas. If you have cats and would like to sample one of our potential blends to deodorize cat litter pans, please contact Valerie at Fenton Farm Inc. 540-636-1236 or e-mail: valerie@alken-murray.com
