CONDENSATE CORROSION INHIBITOR

DESCRIPTION:

ALKEN® TREATMENT J-686 is a blend of three volatile amines of low, medium and high distribution ratios, specially formulated to inhibit condensate corrosion caused by carbon dioxide. The product is suited for complex systems which include medium to long and/or branched steam systems as well as very short runs including boiler-room machinery. It will afford protection to all stages of a multi-stage turbine.

BENEFITS:

  • Protects condensate return lines against grooving-type corrosion.
  • Controls acid attack of threaded pipe connections.
  • Does not contain Morpholine
  • Protects all condensate system metals against carbonic acid corrosion.
  • Minimizes boiler iron deposits by reducing condensate corrosion.

DOSAGE:

ALKEN® TREATMENT J-687 requirements are in direct proportion to the amount of carbon dioxide entering the condensate system for maintaining condensate slightly alkaline. The adjusted condensate pH while using ALKEN® TREATMENT J-687 should be between 7.5 and 8.2.

FEEDING:

ALKEN® TREATMENT J-687 may be added separately to the deaerator storage section, feedwater tank, feed-water line, or directly to the boiler with other boiler treatment chemicals.

PACKAGING AND HANDLING:

ALKEN® TREATMENT J-687 is shipped in containers conforming to Performance Oriented Packaging Specifications. When handling, avoid skin and eye contact, and avoid breathing vapor. Consult the Material Safety Data Sheet for complete handling and storage precautions.
