DESCRIPTION: ALKEN® NPC-766 is a unique combination of scale and corrosion inhibitors specifically formulated for the protection of open recirculated cooling water systems which operate under moderately to severely scale forming conditions.
ALKEN® NPC-766 incorporates the latest developments in copolymer technology to provide corrosion control and multi-functional scale control. Organically-bound phosphorus provides ferrous-metal corrosion protection and scale control through sequestration of scale-forming ions. Additional scale control is provided by dispersion and crystal distortion. Other components of the formulation control corrosion of copper alloys and enhance the protection of ferrous metals. ADVANTAGES:
DOSAGES: ALKEN® NPC-766 dosages may vary somewhat according to operating conditions, but generally only 1 pint per 1000 gallons of bleed-off is recommended. This dosage should be tripled for a two-week period when initiating treatment, whenever the system is refilled with fresh water, and after any major system upsets, in order to establish effective corrosion control. In very severe scaling or fouling conditions, a supplementary dispersant may be required. Your ALKEN® representative will make specific recommendations based on his survey of the particular system. FEEDING: ALKEN® NPC-766 must be fed continuously to the system by a metering pump. Automated systems to control conductivity, pH, and inhibitor level in the system water are available from ALKEN-MURRAY. which may include micro-processor control and interfacing with other computers in the plant. PACKAGING: ALKEN® NPC-766 is packaged in plastic drums. HANDLING: ALKEN® NPC-766 is an alkaline liquid. Consult the current Material Safety Data Sheet for handling and storage precautions.
