SINGLE-PACKAGE CORROSION AND SCALE INHIBITOR FOR COOLING TOWERS


 

DESCRIPTION:

ALKEN® NPC-777 is a unique combination of multimetal corrosion inhibitors, crystal growth modifiers, and dispersants. The scientifically proportioned ratio provides excellent corrosion protection while maintaining clean heat transfer surfaces. Only an appropriate selection of microbicide(s) is needed for a complete treatment program. Since Alken-Murray no longer markets ANY biocides, these will have to be purchased from other vendors. such as Dow or BASF.

 

ALKEN® NPC-777 is especially suitable for comfort cooling systems where close chemical control is not always practical and the heat flux is not high.

DOSAGES:
ALKEN® NPC-777 dosages depend upon the analysis of the makeup water and the cycles of concentration maintained. Recommendations for dosages and overall system operating conditions will be made by your ALKEN® representative. A dosage rate of 1.3 to 2.0 pints of ALKEN® NPC-777 per 1000 gallons of bleed is required to maintain 160 to 240 ppm of treatment. This treatment level is doubled for the first two weeks in order to clean the system and establish a protective film. The recommended range of Stability Index (Ryznar or Practical scale) for cooling tower water treated with ALKEN® NPC-777 is 5.5-7.5


FEEDING:
ALKEN® NPC-777 can be fed easily to the system continuously via a chemical metering pump. Automated systems with chemical feed and bleed in direct proportion to makeup volume and/or system water conductivity are available. ALKEN® NPC-777 can be pumped directly from the drum, thus minimizing handling of the product.


HANDLING:
Store in cool dry place. Store in a tightly closed container at moderate temperature, do not freeze. Wash thoroughly after handling. Use only in a well ventilated area. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, and clothing. Do not inhale or ingest


PACKAGING:

ALKEN® NPC-777 is packaged in containers conforming to Performance Oriented Packaging standards in polyethylene pails and drums, as follows: 5 gallon pail (46 lbs. net), 15 gallon drum (140 lbs.), 30 gallons (280 lbs.), and 55 gallon-drum (513 lbs. net).
