ALKEN ANTIFOAM 880 is an easily dispersed silicone emulsion designed to control foaming in industrial and commercial cooling water systems, air washers and wastewater treatment systems. ALKEN® ANTIFOAM 880 disperses itself throughout the liquid film that makes up the foam. The silicone creates a weakness in the wall of the foam bubble which causes it to collapse. ALKEN® ANTIFOAM 880 lasts longer in the cooling or wastewater system than non-silicone foam control agents, and prevents subsequent formation of foam. Therefore, it acts both as a defoamer and an antifoam. ALKEN® ANTIFOAM 880 is compatible with biological augmentation in wastewater treatment plants. |

ALKEN® ANTIFOAM 880 should be added to the system intermittently, as needed. The required dosage will vary quite widely, depending on the design of the system and the amount of the foam-causing agent. A suggested starting dosage is 2 ounces per 1,000 gallons of water in the system; dosage should be adjusted upward or downward based on observation of the results of this dosage. Dosage should be repeated as needed if foaming recurs. |
Available in 5-, 15-, 30-, and 55 gallon plastic pails/drums. Keep container closed when not in use. Store at moderate temperatures, do not freeze. Stir contents, before dispensing, since emulsions of this nature tend to separate on prolonged storage. Minimum order 3 x 5 gallon pails or 1 x 15 gallon drum. Rev. 03-2006 |
