- All equipment and software has been tested.
While most systems and software are already in compliance, upgrade
paths have been identified for those systems that are non-compliant and
will be made compliant prior to January 2000, or will be replaced.
- Update 11/16//99: We have upgraded and tested our main accounting software,
virus protection and word processing programs. Ken's custom programs for
management of manufacturing, pricing, databases, etc. have been tested
Y2K compliant. The computer sent for overhaul, in August, was not salvagable,
so an upgraded replacement has been obtained. To assure Y2K compliance,
new computers for Ken and Claudia have been obtained. Separate internet
phone lines and connection services for these new computers have been installed,
so that communication will be facilitated, and the Virginia FAX line will
no longer be interfered with. Our credit card processing machine has also
been upgraded.
- We have surveyed our suppliers and outside
service providers to ensure that our supply chain will not be interupted.
We do not yet have contingency plans in the event of a Y2K failure caused
by a supplier or third party. In some cases, especially with respect to
utility vendors, alternative suppliers may not be available.
- The YEAR 2000 statements in this document
are Year 2000 Readiness Disclosure under the Year 2000 Information and
Readiness Disclosure Act. The descriptions above are provided as a convenience
for our clients. Alken-Murray Corporation is not responsible for information
passed on as to third party suppliers compliance, as we are neither the
source of such information, nor are we capable of obtaining independent
verification.
