ALKEN® DISPERSE 332 is a highly charged anionic polyelectrolyte which inhibits and distorts calcium carbonate crystal formation under boiler operating conditions. ALKEN® DISPERSE 332 also fluidizes phosphate treatment sludge formed in the boiler and effectively disperses iron oxides so they can easily be removed from the boiler by normal blowdowns. In addition, ALKEN® DISPERSE 332 has the ability to condition boiler metal surfaces to prevent boiler sludge from adhering to form a heat-insulating scale. |
|
A The required dosage of ALKEN® DISPERSE 332 will depend on the severity of scaling and sludging conditions in the boiler. With increases in feed water hardness or the heat transfer rate of a boiler, higher dosages of ALKEN® DISPERSE 332 are necessary. One pint per 10,000 gallons of feed water is typical, but dosages may range from 0.25 pint to 2.0 pints per 10,000 gallons of feed water, depending on operating conditions.
ALKEN® DISPERSE 332 is compatible with other ALKEN® boiler water treatments when diluted. Dilution should be made with hardness-free water such as condensate, softened makeup or feed water. The recommended feed point is directly to the boiler, but treatment may be fed to any convenient point in the boiler feed water system. |
