ALKEN®ANTI-STAT 340 is designed to impart a small positive (cationic) charge to the air which passes through an airwasher. The charge helps dissipate the negative (anionic) static electrical charges that build up on certain textile fibers during spinning and weaving processes. The non-volatile ALKEN® ANTI-STAT 340 produces very little foam, even when applied in slug dosages. Detergent-surfactants in the formula suspend particulate matter in the airwasher water. ALKEN® ANTI-STAT 340 will help any concurrently applied biocide better penetrate slime masses from algae, filamentous bacteria or fungi, to more effectively eliminate these contaminants. High concentrations of dirt and oil can inactivate ALKEN® ANTI-STAT 340 , so Alken-Murray advises clients to pretreat the system with ALKEN® CW 883 to remove buildup of mud, silt and oil contamination. Never apply ALKEN® ANTI-STAT 340 in conjunction with anionic dispersant polyacrylates, including : ALKEN® NPC 777 or ALKEN® HSN-826. ALKEN® ANTI-STAT 340 can be used in both acid and alkaline systems, and, unlike some products, produces only a minimum of foam even when added in slug dosages. It is also non-volatile and thus is not lost by evaporation. |

| ALKEN® ANTI-STAT 340 dosage requirement can range from 100 parts per billion to 100 parts per million in the water, depending on local conditions. Dosage should be adjusted on the bases of static meter readings and operating experience. Automatic systems which monitor air static charge and control metering pumps for treatment addition are most convenient and efficient. Slug additions should be made to the distributor deck or tower sump of cooling towers. |
