11. Toxicological Information

  • Toxicological Data:
RTECS: NDA
LD50 /LC50: CAS# 8032-32-4: Inhalation rat LC50: 3400 ppm/4H. Investigated as a reproductive effector
Similar composition middle distillates have been found to be weekly to moderately tumorigenic in mouse skin-painting bio-assays. It is suspected these tumors may be due in part to chromic skin irritation, resulting from continuous contact with the test substance. The IARC has concluded that light and intermediate middle distillates are group 3 substances, "not classifiable as to their carconogenicity to humans", based on inadequate human and inadequate animal evidence.
  • Carcinogenicity: Not listed by ACGIH, IARC, NIOSH, NTR, or OSHA
