ALKEN CLEAR-FLO® 1005 is a dry, synergistic blend of thirteen gram-positive natural, non-pathogenic strains of BioSafety Level 1, endospore-forming Bacilli and two (2) strains of BioSafety Level 1, gram-negative, vegetative bacteria. CF 1005 combats problems found in sludge at the bottom of ponds, lakes and rivers, particularly sulfides, mercaptans, ammonia, fatty acids, nitrates and other sources of odor and pollution, while greatly increasing the rate of dentrification. ALKEN CLEAR-FLO® 1005 will break the cycle of sludge buildup, fish suffocation, off-flavor, algae crashes and over-growth of weeds. Keeping the pond bottom clean will reduce stress on your valuable crop, allowing them to maintain healthy immune systems and grow strong. When applied within the revised temperature and pH range listed on this product technical bulletin, this revised formula will deliver improved sludge bioremediation and feed conversion rates. Our cold-adapted strains of BioSafety Level 1 Pseudomonas putida are no longer a part of this product, at the request of health authorities in one country. If application water temperature averages below 9° C, you will need to consult us about modification of this formula, if your country permits use of Pseudomonas bacteria. If ammonia nitrogen is also high, ALKEN CLEAR-FLO® 1100-50x should be used in conjunction with ALKEN CLEAR-FLO® 1005. |

See Aquaculture/Lake/Pond dosage charts for for general application rates (use chart for CF 1003 - 1008). Your Alken-Murray service representative will prescribe both the initial application and the weekly maintenance doses taking into consideration such factors as the size of the particular water body, total weekly inflow and outflow, amount of shade vs. sun, fish and fowl loadings, and levels of pesticides or other contaminants. Be aware that a heavy rainfall may bring significant contamination with its runoff, and a one-time dosage equal to the initial application may be needed to restore control. Mechanical aeration may be needed where natural aeration is deficient. For application between cycles, keep sludge at the pond bottom moist to at least 70% of saturation during treatment. For every hectare-meter of sludge (measure depth of sludge x area of pond), apply 1.0 kg (2.2 pounds) of treatment the first week, distributed evenly. Apply 0.5 kg (1.1 pounds) per week after that, for two more applications. For standard application
to bottom of filled water body,
apply 18 grams the first week (approx. 0.04 pound), per 1000 gallon (3785
liters) water volume, then dose with 9 grams (0.02 pound) per week for three
weeks, and then reduce to 4.5 grams (0.01 pound) per week for maintenance.
Dosage may be increased to as much as 10 times recommended dose for very
fast results, but monitor the water quality to assure that the dissolving
sludge does not cause polluted water. If the test results in the water rise,
stop treating the sludge and treat the water for 2 weeks with Alken Clear-Flo 1006, then resume treatment
with CF 1005, but dose at 5 grams (0.011 pound) each week
per 1000 gallon volume. For optimum bacterial performance, hydrate ALKEN CLEAR-FLO® 1005 before application in the evening. Thoroughly mix each pound of dry product with two gallons of warm water (approx.70 deg. F or 21 deg. C) from the water body to be treated. Allow the mixture to hydrate for two hours, stirring vigorously every half hour. Immediately after stirring the mixture for the last time, pour into the pond in divided doses, to evenly distribute it around the pond. Avoid use of algaecides, herbicides, and antibiotics when using ALKEN CLEAR-FLO® products. |
ALKEN CLEAR-FLO® 1005 is packaged in 25 and 50 pound containers. Store in a cool, dry place. Avoid contact with eyes, skin, or open wounds and wash hands with warm, soapy water after handling.
