ALKEN® LRSD 893 is an effectively
inhibited liquid sulfamic-acid cleaner which is formulated to remove deposits
in all types of non-potable water systems. ALKEN® LRSD 893 removes deposits
of calcium carbonate, and calcium phosphate without attacking the underlying
metal surfaces. The acid used in ALKEN® LRSD 893 converts these deposits
into water-soluble salts; iron oxide removal is hastened by the ability
of the acid to form a stable soluble complex with the iron in the deposits.
ALKEN® LRSD 893 incorporates patented inhibition technology for a high
degree of electrolytically restrained action to the attack by acids on base
steel, while ensuring high efficiency descaling, rinsability and fume reduction. If iron oxides, copper compounds or corrosion are present in the deposit(s), ALKEN® LRSD 890 (liquid inhibited hydrochloric acid cleaner) or ALKEN® DRSD 886 dry inhibited proprietary acid cleaner) may be more effective. If oil and grease deposits are also detected, pre-clean the system with ALKEN® CW 883 for optimum system performance. Consult the Alken-Murray Technical Department for specific product recommendations based upon survey information and chemical analysis of the deposit. |

The dosage of ALKEN® LRSD 893 needed to clean a system depends on the size of the system, the type of deposit present, and the total amount (or thickness) of the deposit. Generally, ALKEN® LRSD 893 is used in a twenty percent concentration in water. Heavier deposits may require higher dosage. |
ALKEN® LRSD 893 is a concentrated liquid acid cleaner/descaler. Store in cool dry place. Store in a tightly closed container. Wash thoroughly after handling. Use only in a well ventilated area. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, and clothing. Should contact occur, immediately flush area with large amounts of water. Do not ingest or inhale mists or vapors. Strict adherence to the safety procedures prescribed, especially those in the Material Safety Data Sheet, is necessary in order to handle and use this product safely. Viscosity was tested using a Cannon® Rotational Viscometer, model LV-2000, a low viscosity attachment, a Cannon® water jacket and #4 spindle with temperature controlled by a Haake® constant temperature water bath, model F3-K. A correction factor of 1.11 was applied after calibrating with Cannon® Viscosity Standards. | ||
