MANURE DEGRADER AND ODOR CONTROL

For Swine & Poultry Waste Treatment

DESCRIPTION:

ALKEN CLEAR-FLO® 7000 is a concentrated dry blend of specially adapted non-pathogenic, Biosafety Level 1 strains of bacteria (3 strains of endo-spore forming Bacillus and 4 strains of gram-negative vegetative species) designed to economically liquify, metabolize and deodorize agricultural wastes. ALKEN CLEAR-FLO® 7000 is ideally suited for use in confinement areas housing swine and poultry, barns, drainage systems, and waste lagoons.

For superior performance, use ALKEN ENZ-ODOR 5 in waste pits, holding pens, lagoons etc. ENZ-ODOR 5 contains all strains in CF 7000, but offers a targeted bonus of 5 extra Bacillus and 4 extra vegetative gram-negative strains along with other ingredients designed to enhance bacterial germination and performance.

If application in cold weather is desired (below 50 degrees F), substitute ALKEN CLEAR-FLO® 7001, using 60 percent of the dosages listed here.

CHARACTERISTICS:

 Bacteria count:  3 billion CFU/gm.
 Appearance:  Free-flowing, brown powder
 Odor:  Yeast-like

ADVANTAGES:

  • Degrades proteins, fats and residual carbohydrates in animal wastes.
  • Retards odor generation by oxidizing malodorous compounds.
  • Improves consistency of waste for pumping.
  • Maximizes fertilizer value of waste.
  • Effective over a wide temperature range 10 deg.C to 49 degrees C (49degrees F to 120 degrees F) and pH range (5.5 to 9.0).
  • Non-toxic, non-corrosive; completely safe to handle and store.
  • USDA authorized for use in sewage and/or drain lines of official establishments operating under Federal meat, poultry, shell egg grading and egg products inspection programs.

DOSAGES:

Use 1 gallon of warm water (approximately 70 degrees F), without chlorine, to hydrate each 1 lb. of dry product and stir vigorously once each 30 minutes, during 2 hours of mixing before pouring into the waste pit. Continuous mixing for two hours is an acceptable option, if available. If a spray is desired, then filter the bran out after hydrating for 2 hours.
Waste Pits: For each 6000 gallons of waste, apply 5 lbs. of ALKEN CLEAR-FLO® 7000 plus 24 oz. of ALKEN® ENZ-ODOR 9 (or maintain 100 ppm sodium nitrate or potassium nitrate) per week until improvement in odor and consistency is achieved (usually two weeks); thereafter for each 6000 gallons, apply monthly 2 lbs. of CLEAR-FLO 7000 plus 8 oz. of ALKEN® ENZ-ODOR 9. or maintain 30 ppm of sodium nitrate or potassium nitrate.
Lagoons: For the first 4 weeks, apply 1 lb. ALKEN CLEAR-FLO 7000 per day per million gallons of daily waste flow; thereafter, apply 2 lbs. per week. Pre-mix at the rate of 1 pound per 2 gallons of water and allow to stand approximately 2 hours, then stir thoroughly before applying half at the inlet from the barn and half in equal portions around the outside of the lagoon. Use of ALKEN® ENZ-ODOR 9 is optional for faster results and better control of H2S.
Ammonia Control in Confinement Areas and floor washing: If sprayable liquid is desired, blend ALKEN NU-BIND 2 & NU-BIND 3 for optimum ammonia odor control.
For applications where client wishes to dehydrate waste, use ALKEN ENZ-ODOR 4-2X.
