CONCENTRATED PETROLEUM DEGRADING LIQUID

DESCRIPTION:

ALKEN CLEAR-FLO® 7136 is a is a concentrated broad spectrum petroleum hydrocarbon degrader containing five (5) endospore-forming Bacillus strains and nine (9) gram-negative, vegetative strains. When a liquid treatment, administered by metering pump is preferred, ALKEN CLEAR-FLO® 7136 is the primary choice for soil remediation applications of coal tar, crude oil and mixtures of light and heavy oil fractions. This formula also successfully degrades alcohols, ketones, and phthalates. For wastewater applications, powdered formulas, including,  ALKEN CLEAR-FLO® 7008 andALKEN CLEAR-FLO® 7036, usually provide the most economical treatment, although a few clients still prefer liquids for a perceived greater response speed from the system.

CHARACTERISTICS:

 Bacteria Count

 100 Million Colony Forming Units/ml

(Loses 1 log of count in 6 months)

 Appearance  Semi-opaque tan liquid
 Odor  Pungent odor

ADVANTAGES:

  • Rapidly degrades all major components of gasoline, diesel, #4, #5, & #6 fuel oils. Also degrades phthalates, ketones, various solvents, sulfur-containing compounds, alcohols, chlorinated hydrocarbons, amines, and other complex organic compounds found in refineries and chemical plant wastewater, which are toxic to naturally occurring bacteria.
  • Reduces further environmental damage by degrading the contaminant plume.
  • Cultures can tolerate petroleum concentrations inhibitory to many indigenous populations.
  • Can tolerate up to 20.0 ppm concentration of heavy metals.
  • Effective over a wide temperature range (40 to 100 F; optimum 75± 10 F)
  • Effective over a wide pH range (6.0 to 8.5; optimum 7.1 ± 0.3)
  • Non-toxic, non-corrosive, safe to handle and store when used as directed.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:

For concentrated hydrocarbon bioremediation, maintain at least 1.0 mg/l of ammonium nitrogen and 0.5 mg/l of ortho-phosphate. ALKEN® BIO-NUTRIENT 3 & 4 contain these nutrients together with micronutrients and other accelerants. The strains in this formula degrade hydrocarbons aerobically, requiring at least 1 ppm of oxygen, with 2 to 5 ppm being ideal. Hydrogen sulfide remediation can be performed both aerobically and anaerobically by this formula.

See

 Industrial/Municipal dosage charts
for general application rates for lagoon or other wastewater applications. Your Alken-Murray service representative will prescribe both the initial application and the maintenance doses, based upon a number of testing parameters. Substitute 1 gallon of liquid for each 1 lb. dosage listed on the dosage chart.

ALKEN CLEAR-FLO® 7136 liquid formula can be applied directly to wastewater or to contaminated soil, using an automated pump, or it can be blended with nutrients and water and applied by sprayer, for a broader reach. For applications requiring surfactant addition, ALKEN CLEAR-FLO® 5100 can be blended in a ratio of 75% CF 7136 to 15% unchlorinated water and 10% ALKEN CLEAR-FLO® 5100, thereby also gaining an additional three strains of hydrocarbon-degrading Bacillus. Maintain hydration at a minimum of 60% of saturation.

Your Alken-Murray service representative will prescribe both the initial application and the maintenance doses, based upon a number of testing parameters. Mechanical aeration is usually necessary for hydrocarbon remediation. Avoid use of algaecides, herbicides, and antibiotics when using ALKEN CLEAR-FLO®.
